The celebration of the 2010 WATCH (Washington Area Theater Community Honors) Awards was held at a public ceremony at The Birchmere on Sunday, March 6, 2011.
WATCH (Washington Area Theatre Community Honors) announced the nominations at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia on Sunday, January 16th. The Award Ceremony will be on Sunday, March 6, 2011 starting at 7:00 pm, at The Birchmere, Alexandria, VA. 121 productions (35 musicals, 86 plays) were adjudicated in 2010. Thirty-one community theater companies participated in WATCH adjudication.
With misunderstandings piled on through the language barrier, the show becomes a total laugh riot.
Prince George’s Little Theatre has released their planned 2010-2011 season: The Cemetery Club, October 2010 Schedule The Odd Couple (Female Version), December 2010 Schedule Harvey, February 2011 Schedule Don’t Dress For Dinner, April – May 2011 Schedule Schedule is subject to change due to performance rights conflicts or other issues.
The characters of Arsenic and Old Lace are icons of the theatre, brought to life by director Gayle Negri, producer Michael O’Donnell and their dee-lightful cast and crew. There’s lovely chemistry between each of the characters.
Two Maryland theater companies have joined WATCH (Washington Area Theatre Community Honors). Damascus Theatre Company (DTC) and Prince George’s Little Theatre (PGLT) were admitted to WATCH in December. Prince George’s Little Theatre let us know that they need a few more actors for their January-February 2009 production of The Moving of L’ila Barton.
