Olney Theatre Center’s Sleuth is worth the schlep out there. The theatre is comfortable and the production values are superb.
The many elements of this creation are pulled together into a miraculous deadpan whole that is suitable for children who can suspend belief, all the while it oozes sophistication with an oblique je ne sais quoi for the mature, adventuresome theatre lover.
Keegan Theatre’s Spring Awakening is a worthy endeavor bolstered by an incredible male cast, top rate music and an artfully crafted century old story. Go see it if you can.
Synetic Theatre has constructively embarked on a principled, yet not doctrinal, mission to remind us all of the safety and cleanliness and trustworthiness of American life and we should thank it and our lucky stars for being here and not there.
Altogether 2nd Star Productions’ Fiddler on the Roof is a fine rendition of a tough musical that avoids descent into minstrelsy and makes good on its offer of gorgeous entertainment.
Dominion Stage is giving us big boy talent in a close and intimate setting at an affordable cost.
Director Beth Hughes-Brown keeps the energy up and the action moving as we try to divine just what is going on in this play, which is a worthwhile evening out.
This is a good show made better by perfect technical direction. Sound, lights and special effects gave body to the atmosphere and reinforced the comic elements of a night in Hell.
Signature Theatre proves itself again with creative and electrifying staging of a difficult show; assembling all of the components into a great night’s entertainment.
