There was a lot of potential for this production of The Visit; unfortunately it just did not live up to expectations.
The overall feeling of Port City’s Farragut North is that of a classic black-and-white intrigue. Melodramatic acting, scratchy sound effects, and Bond-esque sets are incongruous with the sharp, emotionally nuanced–and very modern–script.
A funny play, although occasionally difficult to follow, but overall was a solid production.
