In this bubbling modern extravaganza, the immaculate Miss Nadia Naive and her students are swung into riotous Transylvanian happenings with the irrepressible Count and his gruesome acolytes. On the side of right are noble Nick Necrophilic, Father O’Stake, the cuddly Hansel and Gretel and the Fuddled Friends. Can they prevail over the forces of darkness when these include the crème de la horrible crème such as the Countess Wraith, Genghis the grovelling minion, the Zombies, the Fanged Brides and the dynamic sanguineous gentleman the Prince of Vampires himself?

The Damascus Theatre Company is looking for four actors to round out the cast of its summer musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Three men ages 17 plus and one older man are needed to fill roles in the show. Performances are weekends June 8-24 at the Arts Barn Theatre, Gaithersburg. The award-winning Manassas-based company, now in its 28th year, will begin reviewing proposals and interviewing directors in March, 2012. All shows will be performed at the Gregory Theater at the Hylton Performing Arts Center at the George Mason University campus in Manassas.

Thunderous Productions is seeking the following for a production of Dear Delinquent, a romantic comedy by Jack Poppelwell, which will be presented at the Greenbelt Arts Center in late June:

• An actor in his 20s or early 30s to play the male lead.
• An actor in his 50s to play the father of the leading lady.
• A female in her 20s to play a police investigator.
• An individual available for all rehearsals to serve as stage manager.

Note: We may combine the roles of the police investigator and stage manager into one.

Next to Normal is a rock musical concerning a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life.
