While there are often more questions than answers when it comes to the human mind, Westfield’s show made a powerful statement on the importance of humanity, and through excellent performances the message of acceptance was clearly stated.
Next to Normal demands that the characters be portrayed as unflinchingly real, even in the midst of their weirdness and stress and notwithstanding the stylization inherent in a musical. The MCP cast passes this test with flying colors, being utterly believable throughout.
The show is well-played and I had a good enough time. Proposals is a better evening out than the shoot ’em up at the local Cineplex at a better ticket price.
Tom Lehrer has returned to ESP with a vengeance, in a delightfully funny production of *Tomfoolery*, a revue of Lehrer’s songs put together by Cameron Mackintosh and others in 1980.
The loveliness of the production details carries over into the acting.

Lend Me a Tenor was a glorious farce, and James Madison High School did an excellent job of it.
