Twelve Angry Men, in a strong production by Aldersgate Church Community Theater (ACCT), illustrates, with considerable dramatic exaggeration, the evolution of a jury’s narrative in a murder trial.
The Solid Gold Cadillac hasn’t aged well, with many obscure references. The humor is present, but scattered throughout the play, so it’s never quite able to overcome the script itself.
Aldersgate Church Community Theater (ACCT), a member of WATCH, is seeking directors and plays for two shows.
The audience is treated to a remote, gloomy mansion; a saucy, seductive maid; a sleazy blackmailer; a formerly wealthy family with skeletons in its closet; a trenchcoat-clad detective; and even a dark and stormy night.
ACCT’s next youth production is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the 1920s gangster flick, Bugsy Malone, Jr.. It promises and delivers big musical numbers, flapper fashions, fedoras, speakeasies, and loads of laughs!
