Do you want a sexy introduction to the history of burlesque? Then Cupcake Cabaret has three lovely dames willing to satisfy your curiosity. A Brief History of Bad Women tells the tale of burlesque’s most glamorous dames, while trying to help Sherry Somebody (Julie Chapin) figure out what to do about her marital problems. Delaina Duboix (Belinda Fadlelmola) Sherry’s friend takes her to meet a group of very outspoken ladies at local pub on Sunday afternoon.

The show is witty, well paced and seducibly charming. Each lovely dame in the cast delivers her characters with sublime movements and compelling delivery, making the story each one tells alluring and gripping.

Director’s Note

Burlesque 101

It is entirely appropriate (and welcome and encouraged) for audiences to treat the burlesque numbers in the show as they would any other burlesque performance – applause and cheers during the dancer’s routines inspire the performers and create burlesque-show ambiance for their performance.
