The songs played in the lobby and in the House, prior to the on-stage cabaret performance, are songs from period. All of the songs and dances performed during the cabaret are original, with music by me and with lyrics by Martin Hutson and Drew Lichtenberg. The lyrics used in the torch song Natascia Diaz sings in the cabaret are based on a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke. The song Natascia sings at the beginning of Act Two, &quot;Take O take those lips away,&quot; uses the lyrics from Shakespeare&#039;s text.
