The report I got from one of the show participants was that Ms. Rabben had differences with one of the principals. I would have liked to have seen her do this role as well. However, she is well so far as I know.

I agree with this rave review, though, and Jennifer was great as Mama.

This show was fabulous! I went Sunday, March 7. I saw “Chicago” at a professional venue and it did nothing for me. It was nice, but it didn’t move me the way THIS show did. I walked out of the little theatre humming the tunes, it was just that good. A lady sitting next to me told me she thought this show was absolutely wonderful. She’d seen “Chicago” on both Broadway and at a professional venue in DC, and concluded the LTA’s production was better. Those two girls handled themselves like real pros. The entire cast, as a matter of fact pulled it off like pros. Heck, the entire production was awesome. There were a few glitches, a horn out of tune, or a wayward spotlight, but no major big deals. If you are a “Chicago” fan you should see this show. It didn’t get a standing “O” from what I could see.

Great show overall, but I was confused.. I was under the impression that Renee Rabben was going to be playing Mama. I have seen here in several productions over the past few years and each time I am impressed with versatile acting as well as killer voice. Jennifer did a wonderful job, but I wish that Renee had be in this role. I was very sad when I didn’t see any mention of her in the program! I hope she is well and around and that I will see her in future shows in the DC area! Kudos to the cast and crew.
