Ruby Griffith Award Winners announced

The annual Ruby Griffith Awards were presented Sunday afternoon, July 9, at a ceremony at the Bretton Woods Recreation Center in Potomac, Maryland. 32 plays and musicals were nominated by companies from Woodbridge and Herndon, Virginia to Annapolis and Damascus, Maryland. The winners were:

  • 2nd Runner Up Outstanding Achievement in a Musical – The Gypsy Baron by the Victorian Lyric Opera Company
  • 2nd Second Runner-Up Outstanding Achievement in a Play – The Invention of Love by the Elden Street Players
  • 1st Runner Up Outstanding Achievement in a Musical – The Who’s Tommy by The Little Theater of Alexandria
  • 1st Runner Up Outstanding Achievement in a Play – The Women by the Providence Players of Fairfax
  • Outstanding Achievement in a Musical – Enter the Guardsman by the Colonial Players of Annapolis
  • Outstanding Achievement in a Play – Coyote on a Fence by Silver Spring Stage
  • The Ruby Griffith Award – Hauptmann by Port City Playhouse
